Both South Africa and Bangladesh are unbeaten in the early stages of the competition, the Proteas winning their first two games against Sri Lanka and the Netherlands, while the Tigers overcame Sri Lanka in their belated opener on Saturday.
South Africa are 3/10 for another victory, which would keep them top of Group D and in a great position to advance to the next stage, while Bangladesh are 5/2 to record a second surprise success.
Ottniel Baartman - Top South Africa bowler - 10/3
Ottniel Baartman has taken the most wickets in T20 cricket for South Africa so far this year and he approaches Monday’s clash with Bangladesh bang in form.
The 31-year-old turned in his career-best figures of 4-11 to help his side see off the Netherlands by four wickets last time out in New York, the batters surviving an early wobble as they slumped to 12-4 before chasing down the victory target of 104.
Baartman played a crucial role in restricting the Dutch to just 103-9 in their 20 overs and he can again provide the inspiration for a South Africa side who will look to continue their momentum despite the batting line-up yet to really get going.
The Proteas have never been won this tournament with their best results being to reach the semi-finals twice, but they have made a winning start and are seemingly heading to the Super Eights as they look to finally reach the final, perhaps even going that one step further.
The bowlers have been key to both of their opening wins and Bangladesh will be wary, given they lost eight wickets chasing down 125 in their opening win.
Baartman is ably assisted by the likes of Anrich Nortje, who took four wickets in the opener against Sri Lanka, and Marco Jansen, and the favourites look to have the bowling attack to cause real problems for the Tigers.
Anrich Nortje - Over 1.5 Wickets - 5/6
While Baartman could be key for South Africa on Monday, Nortje can also play his part as he looks to add to his six wickets in the tournament so far.
Nortje has posted figures of 4-7 and 2-19 in the first two World Cup matches and he will be after at least two more against Bangladesh to keep his stats ticking over nicely.
The 30-year-old has taken 44 wickets from 35 T20 internationals so far and usually does well against the Tigers, taking seven wickets against them in previous matches.
The Delhi Capitals star appears solid value at 5/6 to take 2+ wickets in New York in a game his side will hope to dominate.
Litton Das - Bangladesh Top Batter - 7/2
Despite South Africa’s obvious credentials, Bangladesh will hope to play their part in this clash, even if they do look the weaker of the two teams.
They, like their opponents, have at least begun the tournament in winning fashion, with their success over Sri Lanka already putting them in the driving seat to qualify from the group behind Monday's opponents.
After losing a T20 series to co-hosts United States in the build-up and then being outclassed by India in a warm-up match at the start of the month, there were fears Bangladesh could be further embarrassed in the tournament proper, but they proved themselves capable of competing in their opener.
The trick now is to do it again. Litton Das struck 36 runs off just 38 balls in the opening Group D win, and he will again have to be at his best if they are to stun South Africa.
The 29-year-old appears to be in his prime at the moment and has a respectable T20i batting average of 23.29 from 83 matches.
His efforts in New York on Monday may not end up being enough to prevent his side from slipping to defeat but he can again shine with the bat.
