Two days after claiming a significant victory in the race for the County Championship title, Somerset haunted Surrey once again with a six-wicket victory in the semi-finals at Edgbaston.

It looked bleak for the defending champions in the early stages of their innings as Surrey, who were defending a total of 153, took the wickets of Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Tom Abell and Will Smeed in just 13 deliveries.

But the Taunton side were rescued by the formidable partnership of James Rew and Sean Dickson, whose fourth-wicket stand produced 144 runs - the highest-ever partnership in Finals Day history.

Having taken the crucial wickets of Ollie Pope and Jamie Smith, it was somewhat fitting that Lewis Gregory clocked up the winning runs as Somerset triumphed with eight balls remaining.

Gloucestershire stand in the way of Somerset and the achievement of becoming the first county to successfully defend their T20 Blast title.

In their first Finals Day appearance since 2020, Gloucestershire's bowling attack ripped through Sussex's batting order, who were skittled all out for 106.

Their top order made easy work of the target, with James Bracey accelerating Gloucestershire to the finish line with 49 off 28 deliveries, capped off by a mighty six to finish.

The manner of their eight-wicket triumph will give Mark Alleyne's team immense confidence ahead of what's set to be a mouth-watering final.
