After they eased to an eight-wicket win in the opening Test, England clash with New Zealand in Wellington and the Racing Post's Liam Flin has picked out his three best bets for the second match of the series.
Harry Brook's knock of 171 helped England to a first-innings total of 499 in the first Test of the series, while it was seamer Brydon Carse who did the damage with the ball for the tourists, finishing with match figures of 10-106 in Christchurch.
England were helped by some sloppy fielding from the hosts, but nonetheless look well-set heading into the second Test of the three-match series, which takes place at the Basin Reserve in Wellington.
The tourists were edged by just one run when these sides met at this venue back in a pulsating Test match in February 2023 and they will be out for revenge.
England to win - 11/10
New Zealand's 3-0 win over India in their most recent Test series was nothing short of sensational, but it was an outlier in what has otherwise been a challenging transitional period for the Black Caps.
Prior to that series sweep, the Black Caps were beaten 2-0 by Sri Lanka in Galle after a series defeat by the same scoreline on home soil.
The team is not without its issues, having struggled with the retirement of talismanic bowler Trent Boult, while the form of openers Tom Latham and Devon Conway is also a cause for concern.
Jacob Bethell, meanwhile, has made an immediate impression with the bat for England, while Carse and Gus Atkinson are solid options with the ball and captain Ben Stokes has been declared fit for the second Test.
The visitors can also draw confidence from the fact they have won five of their last six Test meetings with New Zealand over the last three years and home advantage counts for little between these two sides, given that they operate in similar conditions.
With that in mind, England are the value in the betting for the second Test at 11/10.
Joe Root to score over 73.5 runs - 5/6
When England slipped to that agonising one-run defeat to New Zealand at the Basin Reserve early last year, Joe Root could at least reflect on a strong individual performance across the two innings.
Currently the world's number one men's Test batter, Root struck an unbeaten 153 in his first innings in Wellington, following up with 95 in the second.
And upon his return to what is typically a high-scoring venue, the former England skipper should again impress.
Root went for a duck in his first innings in Christchurch, but looked better in his second innings as he reached 23 not out and he has piled on some big innings scores in the second half of the year, including 143 against Sri Lanka and 262 against Pakistan.
Back him to pass his runs line of 73.5 at 5/6.
Brydon Carse top first innings match bowler - 6/1
Carse will do well to match his heroics in the first Test of this series, but he is still worth a bet at 6/1 to be the top match bowling in the first innings in Wellington.
The Durham paceman was consistently dangerous in that first Test, taking 4-64 in the first innings and 6-42 in the second and he has now taken 19 wickets in his first three matches in the format for England.
He is clearly loving the conditions in New Zealand and looks a decent wager.
