Kolkata Knight Riders made it seven wins from 10 IPL matches this season with a 24-run victory over Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on Friday.

That margin did not tell the whole story, however, as KKR had slipped to 57-5 batting first before a stabilising stand of 83 between Venkatesh Iyer and Manish Pandey dragged them to 169.

Even then, they needed an excellent bowling performance to seal a victory that kept them in second place in the standings.

Spinners Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy squeezed Mumbai's big hitters in the middle overs before Andre Russell (2-30) and Mitchell Starc (4-33) wrapped things up and Kolkata are worth backing for another win at Lucknow.

Narine, Russell, Phil Salt, Rinku Singh and captain Shreyas Iyer were all dismissed for single-figure scores on Friday, yet KKR still managed to win and their power-packed batting unit should bounce back against the Super Giants.

Lucknow have won three of their last four games but they made heavy weather of chasing down 145 against Mumbai this week, having lost their previous home game by seven wickets to Rajasthan Royals.

Fast bowler Mayank Yadav is unlikely to feature as he was only able to bowl 3.1 overs on his return from injury against Mumbai and Rajasthan comfortably chased down 197 to beat Lucknow last weekend.

While Kolkata are capable of continuing their fine form, they can expect resistance from Lucknow skipper KL Rahul.

The Super Giants star is one of the most reliable top-order runscorers in the IPL and he will have been stung by his omission from India's squad for next month's T20 World Cup.

Rahul is likely to respond in positive fashion and his recent record at the Ekana International Cricket Stadium in Lucknow is rock-solid, with scores of 33, 39, 82, 76 (against leaders Rajasthan) and 28 in his last five appearances at the venue.

He also made 39 off 27 balls in this season's away defeat to Kolkata, where he was pipped to top-batter honours by Nicholas Pooran's 45, and he looks a good bet to outscore his teammates on Sunday. 

Marcus Stoinis to Score Most 6s for Lucknow Super Giants - 9/2

Rahul is Lucknow's most reliable batter but Australia all-rounder Marcus Stoinis has produced some fireworks for the Super Giants this season.

He is a tempting price to hit the most sixes for the hosts, having struck two of Lucknow's three maximums in this week's win over Mumbai.

Stoinis played one of the best innings of the season against Chennai Super Kings on 23rd April, when his unbeaten 124 off just 63 balls fired Lucknow to an imposing target of 211.

The powerful Aussie cleared the ropes six times in that matchwinning knock – his teammates managed just four sixes between them – and he poses a major threat to the Kolkata bowlers.
