India v Bangladesh: Prediction, Tips and Odds

India are within touching distance of the T20 World Cup semi-finals following an impressive 47-run victory over Afghanistan on Thursday.

And Rohit Sharma's side will confirm their place in the last four with a win over Bangladesh, a side they have a fabulous record against in T20s, in Antigua on Saturday.

India v Bangladesh betting tips and predictions

Bangladesh +7.5 wickets/+46.5 runs on match handicap - 4/5

India have looked superb as they target a second T20 World Cup title in the USA and Caribbean this summer, winning all four of their completed matches.

At times it has been plain sailing for the pre-tournament favourites but they have also demonstrated steel and know-how, particularly when successfully defending just 119 against fierce rivals Pakistan in the group stage.

India are a slick machine operating at the peak of their powers and they should prove too strong for a Bangladesh outfit they have beaten with regularity in the 20-over arena.

The pair have met 13 times in T20s before and India have won 12 times with the sole exception coming in November 2019 when Mushfiqur Rahim guided the Tigers home to a superb seven-wicket win in Delhi.

Most of India's victories in that time have been comfortable ones, although not as comfortable as the match handicap set for Saturday's encounter would imply.

To be handicap victors India would have to win by eight, nine or 10 wickets if batting second in Antigua or by at least 46 runs if batting first and that could be a stretch.

Bangladesh lost by only four runs to South Africa in the group stage and by 28 runs (DLS method) to Australia last time out, and they certainly have enough about them to threaten any target set by India and continue to take wickets as the innings progresses.

Suryakumar Yadav to score over 24.5 runs - 5/6

India are blessed with match-winning talent throughout their side and it is rare that at least one of their stars does not fire.

Virat Kohli has struggled at the tournament so far, scoring just 29 runs in four innings, while skipper Rohit Sharma has posted scores of 13, three and eight since scoring an unbeaten 53 in India's opening win over Ireland.

Number four Suryakumar Yadav also had a sticky start to the tournament with knocks of two and seven in his first two outings, but the man known as SKY has discovered his mojo since with half-centuries against the USA and Afghanistan.

Suryakumar, who averages over 45 in T20 internationals, could again be a dependable source of runs against Bangladesh and he is taken to score at least 25 against the Tigers having also scored 31 in a warm-up meeting between the sides before the tournament.

Kuldeep Yadav to take over 1.5 wickets - 5/6

India leg-spinner Kuldeep Yadav made his first appearance of the T20 World Cup against Afghanistan on Thursday and justified his inclusion with two wickets.

Kuldeep is an astute operator in T20 cricket as an average of just 14.16 runs per wicket can attest.

His limited-overs record in the West Indies is also persuasive for supporting him to take at least two Bangladeshi wickets on Saturday.

In four T20s in the Caribbean Kuldeep has claimed seven wickets while he has taken 18 at an average of under 16 in 10 ODIs.
