England Women v New Zealand Women ODI series: Prediction, Tips and Odds

England Women and New Zealand Women begin a busy three weeks by clashing in the first of three one-day internationals at the Riverside in Chester-le-Street.

This match precedes two more one-dayers at Worcester and Bristol, before five T20 internationals culminating at Lord's on Wednesday 17th July.

England Women beat New Zealand Women 2-1 in an away series in April and are 1/7 to win this series and 2/7 to begin with a win in Durham.

England Women to Win 3-0 - 5/4

You need to go back to 2007 for the last time New Zealand Women beat England Women in a one-day international series and 17 years later, expect normal service to be resumed over the next week.

Heather Knight's team are 1/7 to land the honours in the upcoming three-match series which begins in Chester-le-Street and finishes, via Worcester, in Bristol on Wednesday 3rd July.

A rivalry which was once dominated by New Zealand has now swung the other way with England, as recently as April, beating the White Ferns 2-1 away.

A strong New Zealand group has arrived on these shores having been drilled hard by their coaching staff following that series loss.

But England are at full strength and should not only win the series but win it well. Take the 3-0 clean sweep correct score at 5/4.

Since a shock 3-0 home loss to India in 2022, Heather Knight's side have done very little wrong with five successive series wins, including a 2-1 triumph over Australia last summer.

Last month, Pakistan toured and England beat them 2-0 with one wash-out. The third match was won imperiously, by 178 runs.

New Zealand's form has been far more unpredictable, although skipper Sophie Devine looked in good nick with a 41-ball 55 in her team's 44-run win over an ECB Development XI in their one warm-up game.

One warm-up outing looks insufficient and a powerful England team - with both bat and ball - should be too strong.

Heather Knight top England batter - 10/3

Captain Knight has warmed up for England's international schedule with a couple of confidence-boosting knocks for the Western Storm in the T20 arena.

A powerful 69 against the Vipers and 66 against the Sunrisers, both at well over a run a ball, showed Knight is in decent nick heading to Chester-le-Street for the first one-dayer.

The 33-year-old averages over 36 in the 50-over arena for England and has time at No.3 to build an innings which can see her land top home batter odds at 10/3.

Amelia Kerr Player Performance Over 49.5 - 5/6

New Zealand will be looking to Amelia Kerr for inspiration with bat and ball and she rarely lets her side down.

In the White Ferns' warm-up game against an ECB side she made 38 not out and took three wickets.

That gave her a player performance total of 98 points to follow hauls of 64, 34 and 71 in the three-match series against England held in New Zealand in the spring.

Her player performance for the Chester-le-Street curtain-raiser is set at 49.5, quite a high bar, but one she can clear - even in a losing cause.
