England v Australia first ODI stats and head-to-head record (H2H)

Australia have won 88 of their 154 completed ODIs against England, losing 63 times, and two of the previous meetings have ended in ties.

The Aussies beat England at Lord's in the league stage of the 2019 World Cup but the tournament hosts roared back with a thumping eight-wicket victory in the semi-final at Edgbaston.

England went on to be crowned world champions but their dismal trophy defence in 2023 included a 33-run loss to Australia in Ahmedabad, where the Aussies also shocked India in the final.

Opener Travis Head scored 62 in the World Cup semi-final against South Africa and 137 in the final and he was named player of the match in two of Australia's five T20 internationals on their tour of Scotland and England.

The hosts have fond memories of their most recent ODI against Australia at Trent Bridge as they piled up a total of 481-6 on their way to a 242-run rout in June 2018.
