England v Australia 3rd T20I: Prediction, Tips and Odds

With the series evenly poised at 1-1, England take on Australia in the final match of their T20 series at Old Trafford in Manchester and Racing Post's Liam Flin has three bets for the encounter.

After a frustrating opening defeat by 28 runs at the Rose Bowl, England bounced back in their T20 tussle with Australia, winning by three wickets at Sophia Gardens on Friday.

Liam Livingstone was the star of the show, blasting 87 runs with the bat after finishing with figures of 2-16 with the ball, but England will need more players to step up to the plate if they are to secure a series victory on Sunday.

England v Australia third T20I betting tips and predictions

England to win - 6/5

There has not been a lot between these rivals in this T20 series and it is fair to say both sides have their problems.

A handful of England players continue to underperform with Sam Curran struggling and Jamie Overton failing to impress with bat or ball.

As for Australia, they went through seven different bowlers in the second T20 and the fact that opening batsman Matt Short finished as their top wicket-taker - granted with five wickets - says a lot about their attack.

And that is where this match could be won.

Australia are seriously lacking top-class seamers in this series and that is not good news for the visitors given that overcast and rainy conditions are expected in Manchester.

England, meanwhile, will likely welcome back Jofra Archer for this contest and they look the value match result pick at 6/5.

Their run chase in Cardiff equaled the record for the highest run chase in T20s at the venue and they will be the team with confidence behind them heading into the series decider.

Phil Salt top England batter - 10/3

The poor weather forecast for this contest means it could well be a shortened encounter and it could therefore pay to back the openers to top score.

One opener in particular is worth monitoring with Phil Salt a decent pick at 10/3 to be England's top batter in the third T20I.

Salt has scored 20 and 39 in his two innings in this series and should be full of confidence heading to Old Trafford, where he has so often impressed with club side Lancashire.

Sean Abbott to take over 1.5 wickets - 6/4

Australia's lack of quality pace options will be a concern and they may need to look to medium-fast bowler Sean Abbott for inspiration in Manchester.

While it was Short who led the way with five scalps last time out, Abbott has been a consistent performer with the ball lately, taking three wickets in the first T20 and two in the second.

In the process, Abbott dismissed the likes of Phil Salt, Jordan Cox and Will Jacks and he has now taken at least two wickets in four of his last five T20 internationals for Australia.

He will not be up against much competition when it comes to Australian bowlers and is worth consideration in the top Australia bowler betting but the better approach could be Abbott to take over 1.5 wickets at 6/4.
