Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru are ever-presents in the IPL since its inception but both are still waiting to take home the title.
Given the talent the pair have had in their ranks that is a huge surprise, but they are making a decent first of things as they look to make it 18th time lucky in 2025.
The two sides are housed safely in the top three with half of the season gone and will look to further their hopes of an inaugural championship when they meet at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday.
Delhi Capitals to win - 10/11
Delhi Capitals' IPL story has been one of mediocrity, but they are doing their best to set that record straight this year.
Runners-up in 2020, Delhi have made the play-offs just six times in 17 seasons of cricket's premier T20 franchise competition, but a place in the post-season is within touching distance for them this season.
Six wins from their first eight matches have put Delhi well on course for a top-four finish and they have looked a far more well-rounded side in 2025.
A second meeting of the season with RCB, who are also making good headway in their pursuit of a first IPL title, represents another test of their championship credentials, but it is one they are fancied to pass.
The Capitals were fairly comfortable six-wicket winners when the pair met in Bengaluru earlier this season and they have been a tough nut to crack in Delhi recently.
KL Rahul player of the match - 7/1
The Capitals are the fifth franchise India international KL Rahul has represented in the IPL and he appears to be thriving for a change of environment.
Rahul is a class act and passed 5,000 IPL career runs as he compiled a composed 57 not out in Delhi's last game against Lucknow Super Giants.
The 33-year-old has scored 323 runs at an average of 64.60 in this year's competition and has passed 50 on three occasions, including when finishing 93 not out in Delhi's win over RCB on April 10th.
Rahul has been in fine nick since the get-go this season and he could have another starring role to play at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday.
Virat Kohli over 35.5 performance points - 5/6
It seems like stating the obvious, but Virat Kohli carries the hopes of RCB on his broad shoulders.
An IPL winner's medal is one of the only accolades left for Kohli to achieve in the game and he is more than doing his bit to ensure that he sets that record straight this season.
The cricketing megastar has scored 392 runs at an average of 65.33 in nine innings and has already passed 50 five times this season.
Kolhi's excellence in the field is also a huge asset for RCB and he is readily fancied to surpass a player performance line of 35.5.
The 36-year-old will get one point for every run he makes at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, 10 for a catch and 20 should he turn his arm over and claim a wicket with his part-time leg-spin.
