Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants are still in the hunt for IPL play-off places but there is little margin for error when the teams meet at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday.
Delhi Capitals - 4/5
Delhi Capitals suffered a damaging 47-run defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Sunday so they need a big win over Lucknow Super Giants to have any hope of making the play-offs.
Delhi's poor net run-rate means they are likely to come up short of a top-four finish even if they beat Lucknow, but they should be backed to finish the campaign in style at home.
Captain Rishabh Pant was suspended for the trip to Bengaluru due to his side's slow over-rate this season, but the dynamic wicketkeeper-batsman is available for Tuesday's game.
Pant will be hoping for more of the same from the Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, where they have beaten Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans in their last three matches.
All of them were high-scoring affairs – Delhi racked up 224-4 against Gujarat, 257-4 against Mumbai and 221-8 against highflying Rajasthan – and Lucknow's bowling attack looks vulnerable in testing conditions.
Fast bowler Mayank Yadav produced a couple of brilliant spells early in the season but is now sidelined by injury, while another paceman, Mohsin Khan, is a fitness doubt for the visitors.
The Super Giants have won six and lost six of their first 12 games, giving them a better chance than Delhi of qualifying for the play-offs.
However, their last outing ended in a crushing defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad, whose openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma chased down a target of 166 in just 9.4 overs.
Jake Fraser-McGurk to be Player of the Match - 15/2
Lucknow's bowlers may still be reeling from Head's innings of 89 not out off 30 balls against them last week and they face another destructive Australian opener in the form of Delhi's Jake Fraser-McGurk.
The 21-year-old has been one of the signings of the season and his sensational form at the Arun Jaitley Stadium means he merits a bet to be named player of the match.
Fraser-McGurk smashed 65 off 18 balls on his home debut against Hyderabad and his three subsequent innings in Delhi have yielded 157 runs from just 61 deliveries.
He made his IPL debut in the away win over Lucknow, scoring 55 off 35, and should relish another crack at a depleted Super Giants bowling attack.
Shai Hope under 0.5 sixes - 5/4
Shai Hope hit five sixes in a 17-ball innings of 41 for Delhi against Mumbai on 27th April but that was a rare highlight in a modest campaign for the West Indies international.
Hope was a surprise addition to the Capitals squad given his pedestrian batting performances in T20 internationals. He has hit only 20 sixes in 26 innings for the Windies and six of them came in one knock against Bangladesh in December 2018.
He has shown more aggressive intent this season but, at the prices, he is worth backing not to clear the ropes on Tuesday. Hope's other two scores in Delhi this term were five and one and he crawled to 29 off 23 balls in Sunday's defeat to RCB, hitting four fours but no sixes.
