Birmingham Phoenix and Trent Rockets clash in their penultimate match of the 2024 Hundred at Edgbaston on Monday.
Defeat for the Rockets would end their hopes of reaching the knockout stage of the competition, while a victory would move them level with Phoenix on eight points and put them in the hunt for a top-three finish.
Birmingham know a win on home soil would put them a step closer to advancing and they head into the contest on the back of a couple of impressive victories.
Birmingham Phoenix to win - 4/5
Trent Rockets started off the Hundred in positive fashion with two victories in a row, but they have struggled to maintain that level of form with three defeats suffered in their last four matches.
Birmingham accounted for one of those losses in July's clash at Trent Bridge, where Jacob Bethell's unbeaten 46 and Dan Mousley's 3-19 from 15 balls helped the Phoenix to the win.
The Rockets looked to be on their way to a crucial victory against Southern Brave last time out, only for the latter to smash five sixes in a row from balls 85 to 89 before chasing down 127 with a delivery to spare.
That was a damaging defeat for Trent and their hopes of reaching the knockout stages can be ended by Birmingham, who are hitting form at the right time.
Moeen Ali's side destroyed the Northern Superchargers by 10 wickets before easing to a five-wicket success over the Welsh Fire last time out, the captain scoring 60 in that latest triumph.
With Ben Duckett, Liam Livingstone and Jacob Bethell also in the side, there is plenty of batting firepower for the Phoenix and they can pick up the crucial win on Monday.
Adam Milne to take over 1.5 wickets - 6/4
Birmingham have a well-stocked pace unit and one player that has upped his game over the last couple of matches is Adam Milne, who took 3-20 against the Superchargers and 1-27 in the win over the Fire.
The 32-year-old New Zealand international also has fond memories of playing the Rockets, taking 2-20 in the reverse fixture, and he looks capable of replicating that form in this fixture.
Ben Duckett to score most 6s for Birmingham - 5/1
Birmingham also boast a powerful batting line-up and England international Duckett has been in fantastic form, scoring 210 runs from four innings.
At 5ft 6ins, the 29-year-old is a diminutive figure at the crease but he packs a mighty punch and has shown his ability to clear the rope during this competition.
Duckett has hit eight sixes, the most of any Birmingham player, and he notched one maximum in the victory over the Welsh Fire last time out - the joint-most for his team.
