Birmingham Phoenix host in-form Northern Superchargers in The Hundred on Tuesday and some big-name players will be taking to the field at Edgbaston.
Northern Superchargers to win @ 8/11
Northern Superchargers started their campaign with a 47-run loss to Trent Rockets, but they have roared back from that defeat, winning their three subsequent matches in The Hundred.
The Superchargers, coached by Andrew Flintoff, captained by Harry Brook and with England star Ben Stokes and West Indies ace Nicholas Pooran among their big hitters, can make it four in a row when they travel to Edgbaston to face Birmingham Phoenix.
They eased to a seven-wicket win over Southern Brave in their second game before beating defending champions Oval Invincibles, who have won their other three matches this term.
The Invincibles were restricted to 126-9, chasing 146, while the Superchargers' bowlers closed out another impressive win against Manchester Originals on Sunday.
Their attack is shaping up nicely with England fast bowlers Reece Topley and Matthew Potts, Australian all-rounder Ben Dwarshuis and world-class spinners Adil Rashid and Mitchell Santner.
The Phoenix are in the hunt for the play-offs thanks to narrow wins over the Rockets and London Spirit, but they were well beaten by the Brave last time out and were bowled out for 89 in their opening game against the Invincibles.
Jamie Smith to score most sixes for Birmingham Phoenix @ 6/1
Superchargers skipper Brook could be up against England Test team-mates Ben Duckett and Jamie Smith and wicketkeeper Smith is an eye-catching price to hit the most sixes for the Phoenix.
His performances in The Hundred last year helped propel him onto the international stage and he hit 11 sixes in seven innings.
No other Birmingham batter managed more than seven maximums in 2023 and Smith, who could bat as high as number three, should relish his return to Edgbaston, where he scored 95 in this month's third Test against the West Indies.
He struck five sixes in his first four Test innings, having cleared the ropes 13 times in 12 County Championship knocks for Surrey this summer, so he should have no trouble adapting to the 100-ball format.
Ben Dwarshuis over 1.5 match wickets @ 13/8
Australian all-rounder Ben Dwarshuis has proved an inspired signing for the Superchargers, scoring 40 not out and 20 not out in his first two appearances.
He recorded identical figures of 2-28 in the wins over the Rockets and the Originals and is a tempting bet to take two or more wickets on Tuesday.
The Phoenix have lost 32 wickets in their first four matches this season and their batters will have to take risks against a strong visiting bowling attack.
Left-arm fast seamer Dwarshuis had an excellent 2023/24 Big Bash League campaign in his native Australia, picking up 17 wickets in 11 games for Sydney Sixers.
He has clearly benefited from a spell with Durham in this summer's T20 Blast helping him to acclimatise to English conditions, so he should be full of confidence after the start of his career in The Hundred.
Dwarshuis' victims in the win over the Rockets were experienced opener Adam Lyth and classy middle-order man Sam Hain and he could trouble the home batters at Edgbaston.
