Australia v India Test series stats and head-to-head record (H2H)

Australia have a formidable home record in Test cricket, but India have beaten them 2-1 in their last two series Down Under - in 2018-19 and 2020-21.

The Aussies shared a 1-1 draw with the West Indies in January, suffering an eight-run defeat in Brisbane, but they bounced back with a 2-0 series victory in New Zealand in March.

The Black Caps then caused a huge upset on their tour of India in October, winning all three Tests against Rohit Sharma's men and India's star batter Virat Kohli has scored only one half-century in 12 Test innings in 2024.

Kohli has excelled in Australia, averaging 54 with six centuries in 13 matches, but Australia have won all four Tests at Perth's Optus Stadium - the venue for the opening game - by margins of 146 runs, 296 runs, 164 runs and 360 runs.
