Crawley v Stockport: Predictions, Tips and Odds

Crawley play Stockport in League Two in the only EFL match on Monday and we should see an entertaining game between two teams aiming for promotion.

Crawley v Stockport

Stockport's place in the top three of League Two has come under pressure as their form has tailed off in recent weeks, while a red-hot run means Crawley will be into the play-off places if they can secure a home win.

Crawley or draw double chance – 10/11

Crawley have put together an impressive run as they bid to secure a play-off place. They have won five of their last six games and will fancy their chances of picking up at least a point at home.

Stockport were expected to be big players in League Two this season after finishing fourth last year and while they remain on track in second place in the standings, they have hit a rough patch of form with only one win in their last six games.

Even that success required a 90th-minute goal from Paddy Madden to beat Newport at home, and while County are unbeaten in four games, they are struggling for wins at a crucial stage of the season.

The Hatters salvaged a draw from Thursday's televised game against Salford City, but again there were concerns as they went 2-0 down in the first half to a team in the lower reaches of the table who had not won any of their previous four matches.

It's all a long way off the scintillating form Stockport were in when they were top of the table after winning 13 successive games from September to November and they have won only six of their last 21 matches since late November.

Crawley were the last team to hold Stockport before their long winning streak in the autumn as the Red Devils came back from 2-0 down to lead 3-2 before County grabbed a late equaliser and they could give them trouble again.

The only victory against a top-seven team in the Sussex side's recent run was against AFC Wimbledon, but Scott Lindsey's side have put together a nice sequence with wins to nil against Forest Green, AFC Wimbledon and Accrington and 2-1 successes over Harrogate and Notts County.

Their only recent loss was to Morecambe and even that 1-0 defeat, which came in a run of four straight away games, followed a decent performance when Crawley had nearly 60% of the possession and won the corner count 7-2.

The schedule also works in favour of the home side as they have been off since beating Notts County on Tuesday, while the reason that this game is taking place on Monday is that Stockport were playing Salford on Thursday night.

Stockport look overrated in the market at odds-on prices and taking Crawley to either win or draw the game is much preferred.

Over 2.5 goals – 9/10

Crawley have tightened up at the back in recent games, conceding only five goals in their last eight matches, and their goalkeeper Corey Addai has been in tremendous form, winning the League Two fans' player of the month award for February.

Stockport have not been at all clinical lately, scoring only four goals in their last six outings.

However, both teams will be keen for a win in this match and that could lead to an encounter that's closer to their first meeting this season, which produced six goals.

Taking there to be at least three goals in the game appeals given the threats both teams have, with Crawley's attacking unit working well together lately while Stockport's efforts are led by Isaac Olaofe, who is fifth in the League Two goal charts with 18.

Olaofe scored a brilliant equaliser against Salford to end a four-game barren run and will need to be closely monitored by the home side.

Danilo Orsi anytime goalscorer – 11/4

Danilo Orsi has been a tremendous find for Crawley this season, scoring 17 goals in all competitions after a summer move from Grimsby.

He is joint-eighth in the League Two goals table with 15 and can be fancied to get on the scoresheet in this game.

The striker opened the scoring in both of Crawley's recent wins over Forest Green and AFC Wimbledon and also found the net in the teams' first meeting this season, putting the Red Devils 3-2 ahead.

Klaidi Lolos has scored in each of Crawley's last two games, but with Kellan Gordon providing some tremendous crosses in recent games, Orsi should have chances to get back on the goal trail.
