First contested by 32 teams, the Copa do Brasil now has 92 participants with the winners qualifying for the Copa Libertadores.

  • First round: 19th - 26th February 2025
  • Second round: 5th - 12th March 2025
  • Third round: 30th April - 21st May 2025
  • Round of 16: 30th July - 6th August 2025
  • Quarter-finals: 27th August - 11st September 2025
  • Semi-finals: 5th - 19th October 2025
  • Final: 2nd - 9th November 2025

Copa do Brasil 2025 format

The Copa do Brasil has seven stages including the final, with the first two rounds taking place over one leg, and remaining rounds over two.

The first round sees teams split into eight groups for the draw, sorted by their national ranking. Teams are drawn with Group A sides

is hosted by the lower-ranked team, and if the tie ends in a draw, the higher-ranked team automatically progress.

The host team for the second round is drawn at random, and if the tie ends in a draw, the game will be decided be penalties.

Teams will be seeded by their national ranking for the third round, with ties taking place over two legs from then on.

Reports suggested that Flamengo, winners of the Copa do Brasil, won $18m for their success in the 2024 competition.
