Conor McGregor has been priced up as marginal favourite at 10/11 to beat Michael Chandler at UFC 303.
The fight was announced by Dana White in the aftermath of UFC 300, with the contest to take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Nevada.
McGregor's comeback has been long-awaited by fight fans, who hoped to see The Notorious at UFC 300, but having failed to re-enter the USADA testing pool early enough, an appearance at the landmark card was ruled out.
As the months went on, White became less and less optimistic of seeing McGregor in 2024, saying in February that it would 'hopefully' be in 2024 with the autumn being targeted.
This was in contradiction to McGregor's proposal of fighting in June, and 'Mystic Mac' has been proven correct, with the pair set to meet as part of International Fight Week.
The event will mark almost exactly three years since McGregor's last Octagon appearance, in which he suffered a broken leg against Dustin Poirier at the end of the first round.
McGregor spent a year in recovery before signing up to coach on The Ultimate Fighter opposite Chandler, with the pair's planned fight pushed further and further back with McGregor pursuing other avenues including seeing to his business ventures and stepping into acting.
It will also be McGregor's third fight at 170lbs and only his second since his win over Nate Diaz at UFC 202 back in 2016.
McGregor stepped up from featherweight to fight Rafael dos Anjos for the lightweight title at UFC 196, but when the Brazilian pulled out through injury, Diaz stepped in, and McGregor made the further leap to 170lbs on two weeks' notice.
The weight clearly impacted McGregor, whose stamina was drained by the end of the second round when Diaz secured a rear-naked choke. McGregor insisted on fighting at the same weight for the rematch, and while the stamina issues were still there, the former champion won by majority decision.
After fighting Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight title, then losing to Khabib Nurmagomedov, McGregor took on Donald Cerrone at 170lbs, winning in the first round.
