Kakko, 21, had an assist, his third of the playoffs and Lafreniere, 20, two which was his sixth and seventh helper of the post-season.
Chytil, Lafreniere and Kakko have been building chemistry since just before the end of the regular season, when 58-year-old Gallant put them together.
Their performances helped the Rangers finish second in the Metropolitan (52-24-6) and beat the Pittsburgh Penguins and Carolina Hurricanes in the playoffs, both over seven games.
New York have won seven straight home playoff games and scored a powerplay goal in six straight overall games, matching their playoff record. Their 33.3 per-cent conversion rate ranks second of all teams in the playoffs.
Game 2 of the series is in New York on Friday.
Gallant said about the "Kid Line" to the media: "It was close to their best (game) if it wasn't their best, for sure. They got inside, they scored some nice goals, they made some plays.
"They're attacking. They're a confident bunch of kids now, and we need that to continue."
