Colchester United are attempting to conclude a deal to sign Dundee midfielder Paul Digby.
The Daily Record have reported that Colchester have entered talks to sign the player from the Scottish Premiership side.
Digby has not travelled to Hungary for Dundee'e pre-season trip and he is not part of Steven Pressley's plans for next season.
He has been told he is free to leave the club and he looks set to move back to England this summer.
Digby signed a two-year contract at Dundee after joining the club last season.
However, he has struggled to establish himself up north and he only featured 14 times in the Scottish Premiership during the 2025/26 campaign.
The 31-year-old boasts a wealth of experience in the EFL after representing the likes of Mansfield Town, Forest Green Rovers, Stevenage and Cambridge United.
It was at the latter where the midfielder thrived as he made 200 over appearances during a five-year stint at Cambridge.
Colchester are now looking to swoop as they look to bring in a replacement for Arthur Read, who completed a move to York City last week.
