OpTic Texas defeated Atlanta FaZe 5-2 in the final of the OpTic Major One, taking the title in their first major event under their new banner with the team having been formed after a merge between OpTic Gaming and Dallas Empire.
In the winners' final beforehand, OpTic overpowered London Royal Ravens 3-1, having beaten FaZe and Seattle Surge in the Major One's previous rounds.
And prior to that teams had also been competing in the Major One qualifiers, in which FaZe finished with a 100 per cent record, whereas OpTic progressed with a 3-2 record.

Importantly, though, they rose to the occasion when it mattered and coach "Sender" has labeled the squad an "amazing family" following their success in their home Major.
Qualifying for the second Major of the season - the Minnesota ROKKR Major 2 - starts on Friday.
