City Of Troy has been cut from 25/1 into 5/1 to win the 2024 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe after landing the Derby for Aidan O'Brien at Epsom.
Just like Auguste Rodin in the previous year, City Of Troy silenced his doubters by bouncing back from his Newmarket disappointment to win emphatically in the Derby.
The loose horse Voyage posed a headache in the closing stages, but City Of Troy discovered his path towards the inside and displayed a blistering turn of foot when coming in off the bend to lead an Irish 1-3 at Epsom.
It was a record-extending 10th victory for O'Brien in the iconic race, whose backing of City Of Troy was justified following an electrifying performance.
On the success, jockey Ryan Moore said: "We got a few things wrong at Newmarket in the Guineas. We identified those and got it right today.
"He had the loose horse in front of him but he quickened well and you have to be delighted with what he did."
As a result, City Of Troy has been cut to 5/1 in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, ahead of Economics (12/1) and Ezeliya (12/1).
Europe's richest Flat race is scheduled to take place on Sunday 6th October at Longchamp Racecourse in Paris.
