After emphatically winning the 2024 Derby at Epsom, Eclipse at Sandown and the Juddmonte International at York, Aidan O'Brien will be hoping City of Troy can provide him with his first success in the Breeders' Cup Classic.
City Of Troy bounced back from a poor display in the 2000 Guineas by winning Britain's most famous Flat race, which gave trainer Aidan O'Brien a 10th Derby victory.
It was one of the great training performances of modern times as City of Troy made a mockery of his doubters, with O'Brien declaring the horse as the best Derby winner he has ever had.
After battling to victory in the Eclipse in the midst of all-aged company and romping to success in the Juddmonte International, there is every chance that City of Troy could win one of the sport's biggest prizes before the year is out.
After success in the Juddmonte International at York, Aidan O'Brien insisted the Breeders' Cup Classic is the target for the three-year-old, a race that the master trainer is yet to win.
“It looks like City will go straight for the (Breeders’ Cup) Classic,” O’Brien said. “That will open it up for all the other horses.”
City Of Troy is currently entered into the below races.
