Wham! has returned to the top of our betting odds for the 2024 UK Christmas Number One.
UK Christmas Number One odds
After George Michael's death in 2016, Wham!'s hit single Last Christmas has climbed the charts in each of the seven years, reaching number one in 2020, albeit the week after Christmas. Last Christmas reached number one again in 2022, but finally took top spot at Christmas for the first time in 2023 and is second favourite.
Liam Payne briefly overtook Wham! as favourite but has since drifted to fourth favourite with Mariah Carey third favourite thanks to her ever-popular Christmas hit All I Want For Christmas Is You.
X Factor winners dominated the Christmas charts with seven number ones in 10 years before YouTube star LadBaby took top spot for five straight years between 2018 and 2022.
Band Aid 40 is now the second favourite with singers from past and present featuring on the charity single.
