Constitution Hill and Lossiemouth are jostling for favouritism in the betting odds for the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton on Boxing Day.
(Odds will display when the market is available)
The two horses, who are both at the top of the Champion Hurdle betting as things stand, will face off in a blockbuster clash in the race that proceeds the King George VI Chase on Thursday.
It will mark a year to the day since Constitution Hill's last appearance as he defeated Rubaud by nine lengths in the same race, with his unbeaten record under rules again on the line in the 2024 renewal.
Since missing the 2024 Champion Hurdle and the remainder of last season, Constitution Hill missed his planned comeback in the Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle last month but he has been declared fit and raring to go by trainer Nicky Henderson.
He will face a stern challenge from Lossiemouth, however, after Willie Mullins' superstar saw off the challenge of Stayers' Hurdle winner Teahupoo to win the Hatton's Grace Hurdle at Fairyhouse at the start of the month.
Harry Cobden will be looking to force his way into the billed two-horse race on board Burdett Road, a four-year-old who showcased his credentials when winning the Greatwood Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham last time out.
The outsider in the race is the Sam Thomas-trained Lump Sum, who was second to Sir Gino in the Fighting Fifth Hurdle.
