Fight & Ring Walk Time

Ring walks for Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn are expected to begin at around 22:30 (BST), although this is entirely dependent upon the length of the undercard fights.

Huge shows such as this typically kick-off their main events at around 23:00 (BST), meaning a 30-minute slot prior to that should be sufficient for the pair to undertake their ring walks, together with the typical pre-fight build-up, including introductions and national anthems.

Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn Tale of the Tape

Chris Eubank Jr is naturally the bigger of the two fighters, but weight stipulations are likely to be included within the agreement to ensure a more even playing field for Conor Benn.

Much was made of Eubank Jr's dramatic weight cut and subsequent rehydration clause ahead of the first fight, although Eddie Hearn has recently announced that the fighter will once more need to adhere to the same terms.

The rematch will take place at 160lbs, which is slightly higher than the 157lbs catchweight that was agreed for the ill-fated first bout, which was cancelled during fight week in 2022.

Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn said: "The weight is at 160lbs which is Chris Eubank’s weight, it’s a much better hydration for him this time than it was last time (in 2022).

"Conor’s coming up two weight classes, Conor’s a welterweight, he’s coming up to fight a middleweight - nothing is unreasonable in the contract."

Weight Limit & Rehydration Clause

Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn 2 is being contested in the middleweight division, where both fighters must come in no higher than 160lbs.

Ahead of the first fight, Eubank Jr tipped the scales at 160.2lbs at his first attempt and 160.05lbs on his second attempt ahead of the first fight, meaning he missed the authorised 160lbs limit.

As a consequence, the 35-year-old's failure to make weight triggered a clause in the fight contract which culminated in a £375,000 fine, which had to be paid to Benn.

It's also believed that a 10lbs rehydration clause has once more been included within the fight agreement for the naturally bigger man, Eubank Jr ahead of the rematch.

This means the IBO world champion will undertake secondary weigh-in on fight night, where he will have to tip the scales at a maximum weight of 170lbs - any higher and he could land a huge fine or even see the bout even cancelled.

Did Chris Eubank Jr use a sauna to cut weight?

Chris Eubank Jr himself posted videos online documenting what appeared to be a challenging weight cut down to middleweight earlier this year.

He even went as far as to use a sauna sweat suit in a bid to shift weight, an act which is strictly forbidden by the British Boxing Board of Control, who subsequently called UPON Eubank Jr to explain his actions.

Speaking to the BBC, Robert Smith, General Secretary of the BBBofC, confirmed that the board is investigating Eubank Jr's prohibited sauna use.

"We need to establish exactly what the situation is - I want to find out the dates when it was all done.

"He's been called in by the Southern Area Council. He will come in at the beginning of July and tell them what the truth is and then they'll make a decision."

How much weight do fighters usually gain between the weigh-in and the fight?

Boxers typically gain a significant amount of weight following their weigh-in, with gains largely ranging from between eight and 28lbs!

It's not unheard of for a fighter to add even more weight to their body than this!

This rapid weight gain occurs between the weigh-in, which is usually 24 hours before the fight, and the fight itself - with a large proportion of the additional weight being gained from a high intake of water, with fighters restricting the amount of liquid they take in from 48 hours before their weigh-in, to ensure they make the agreed weight limit.

It's also relatively common for fighters to take in over 15,000 calories in the 24 hour period between tipping the scales and entering the ring on fight night.

Of course, the rehydration clause for Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn 2 means Eubank Jr will have to be mindful of his weight gain, given he can only add 10lbs of weight between the weigh-in and the fight itself.

Fight Purse & Split

Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn 2 will reportedly carry a fight purse of over £20m.

Details of the split have not been revealed but it's expected that Eubank Jr will once again pocked a greater proportion of the share.

It's believed that a 60/40 split was agreed for the first fight, which pocketed Eubank Jr over £10m and Benn around £8m.

However, there is expected to be an even bigger pool of money this time around, with Eubank Jr likely to generate in excess of £12m.

Undercard

Details of the full undercard for Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn have not yet been revealed, although fight fans can expect a bumper bill of action in London.

Both Matchroom and Boxxer have stacked stables, with plenty of potential all-British clashes to be made.

Ben Whittaker, who has recently been rumoured to have been lined-up for a switch from Boxxer to Matchroom, will be one fighter who could help elevate the colossal card to even greater heights.

An official announcement on the undercard is expected in the coming weeks.
