Cheltenham Horse Racing Tips for Saturday

The going is likely to be a combination of good to soft and soft ahead of Cheltenham's seven-race Trials Day card on Saturday afternoon, featuring the £125,000 Grade 2 Cotswold Chase.

The latest horse racing betting tips for Saturday's meeting at Cheltenham from Racing Post tipster Dave Randall.

Saturday's Cheltenham Horse Racing Betting Tips and Odds

13:50 - Ginny's Destiny - 4/1
14:25 - L'Homme Presse - 1/1
16:10 - Potters Charm - 4/5

13:50 - Ginny's Destiny - 4/1

11 horses are set to face the starter in the £100,000 Class 1 extended 2m4f Premier Handicap Chase.

Paul Nicholls has won two runnings since 2014 through Frodon (2018) and Il Ridoto (2023), and Ginny's Destiny is the pick from his two 2025 representatives, with Il Ridoto not considered progressive enough to defy a 9lb higher mark two years on.

Harry Cobden clearly agrees as Nicholls' stable jockey was in the saddle in 2023, and is choosing to continue a 3-8 winning association with the selection.

Ginny's Destiny is 4-8 on a combination of good to soft and soft ground, 4-12 over this intermediate trip and 3-6 on this course, but it is one of his course-and-distance defeats that is the key to this contest.

If the nine-year-old reproduces the form of his two length second to Grey Dawning in the Grade 1 Turners Novices' Chase in March then he is likely to outclass this opposition.

That effort was awarded a personal best Racing Post Rating (RPR) and Topspeed (TS) figure of 162 and 146, so opportunity knocks for the gelding at Prestbury Park once again from a mark of 152, having taken a big stride back in the right direction when third in Huntingdon's Grade 2 Peterborough Chase last month.

14:25 - L'Homme Presse - 1/1

Six horses are scheduled to do battle in the feature Grade 2 extended 3m1f Cotswold Chase, but one contender stands out on form.

Venetia Williams' representative L'Homme Presse is 7-12 with Saturday's jockey Charlie Deutsch in the saddle.

The 10-year-old is 7-11 on a combination of good to soft or soft ground, 2-2 at this time of year and 2-3 on this course, including a Grade 1 success over just shy of this trip in the Brown Advisory Novices' Chase at the 2022 festival.

The selection finished fourth in last year's Grade 1 Cheltenham Gold Cup, and he returned to action with a promising third in the Grade 1 King George VI Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day.

None of his five rivals can boast such a consistent body of form, and L'Homme Presse is receiving 6lb from his nearest form danger Gentlemansgame on these favourable terms.

16:10 - Potters Charm - 4/5

Finally, seven runners are due to line up in the Grade 2 extended 2m4f Novices' Hurdle.

Nigel Twiston-Davies's representative Wholestone won this race in 2017, and his 2025 contender Potters Charm has outstanding claims.

The six-year-old is 6-6 for Saturday's jockey Sam Twiston-Davies, 3-3 over this trip, 2-2 on this course and 2-2 on soft ground.

Despite carrying a 5lb penalty he is clear top on the book, and RPRs, on these favourable terms, and a sixth consecutive success is by far the most likely outcome.
