Chelsea v Manchester United predicted lineups and team news

Chelsea play host to struggling Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

While it's impossible for Chelsea fans to know what to expect from their side at the moment -- losing 3-0 to Brentford, then beating Bournemouth 5-0; then beating Everton 2-0 before losing 2-0 to Tottenham -- Manchester United have been all too predictable.

United are now without a win in six, with morale seemingly at rock bottom after the 3-0 drubbing to Bournemouth last time out.

Xabi Alonso will have been relieved to have an EFL Cup tie against Liverpool in midweek for Cole Palmer to serve his one-match ban, and the 24-year-old will look to add to the four goals he's already scored against the team he supported as a boy.

Joao Pedro however will be missing for the Blues and is set to spend a few weeks on the sidelines. Joining him is Maxence Lacroix who limped off in the EFL Cup clash with Liverpool in midweek. Jorrel Hato is set to miss out though Pep Chavarria and Moises Caicedo are both available.

Owing to defensive injuries, Alonso will likely stick with a back four, deploying Joshua Acheampong at right-back once again.

Emi Martinez continues his recovery from a broken jaw with Mike Penders set to remain in goal.

Asked about Estevao, who's struggled for minutes under Xabi Alonso, the Blues boss confirmed he would play, but whether he will start or appear from the bench remains unclear.

For United, Luke Shaw and Patrick Dorgu are still sidelined, with Marcus Rashford continues to manage a hip injury. Kobbie Mainoo is back in training but may not be ready to start.

It will provide something of a headache for Michael Carrick, who will likely drop Youri Tielemans after his display against Bournemouth, restoring captain Bruno Fernandes to the starting XI.

Lisandro Martinez should be fit to start and will likely come in for Ayden Heaven who was hooked on Sunday, while Carrick will weigh up keeping Leny Yoro at right-back, or introducing Noussair Mazraoui.
