Chelsea produced a magnificent display to win the 2025 Club World Cup after they beat Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in the final in New Jersey.
Enzo Maresca's side went into the Club World Cup final as the underdogs against the UEFA Champions League winners, but they made a mockery of their pre-match 90-minute odds of 4/1.
Chelsea started brightly and they almost scored the opener in the 8th minute of the match when Cole Palmer curled an effort into the side netting after a neat lay off from new signing Joao Pedro.
They did take the lead 14 minutes later, however, when Malo Gusto dispossessed Nuno Mendes down Chelsea's right and he found Palmer on the edge of the area, who calmly slotted the ball past the outstretched hand of Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Chelsea doubled their advantage on the half-hour mark as Palmer drifted in from the right and produced a carbon copy finish after evading centre-back Beraldo with a clever dummy.
The Premier League side were then in dreamland minutes before the interval as Joao Pedro latched onto a weighted ball from the imperious Palmer to calmly lift the ball over Donnarumma.
PSG were much brighter at the start of the second half and they should have been level within minutes of the restart when Ousmane Dembele's close-range effort was brilliantly palmed away by Robert Sanchez.
Sanchez then produced another phenomenal stop to tip away Vitinha's audacious long-range effort on the hour.
Chelsea introduced Liam Delap for goalscorer Joao Pedro half way into the second half and his impact was almost instant when his curled effort from 25 yards was clawed away by Donnarumma.
PSG were becoming increasingly frustrated and they were reduced to 10 men late on as Joao Neves was dismissed for pulling Marc Cucurella's hair following a VAR review.
The French champions continued to press but they were unable to penetrate a stubborn defence and Chelsea held on to complete a fantastic victory.
