Chelsea 11/2 not to win another Premier League game this season

Now winless in their last nine matches in all competitions, Frank Lampard's Chelsea are 11/2 to go the rest of this Premier League campaign without a victory.

Languishing in 12th place in the Premier League after a heavy defeat the Emirates and dumped out of the Champions League at the hands of holders Real Madrid in the quarter-finals, Chelsea's season is essentially over with five league games remaining.

A tumultuous season which has seen three managers in charge - Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter and now Frank Lampard - not to mention a staggering total of 17 players signed for well over £500m, it's fair to say Chelsea have been in disarray since American businessman Todd Boehly took over the club in May of last year.

Chelsea legend Lampard has lost each of his first six matches as interim manager since being charged to lead the Blues until they find an adequate long-term solution in the summer, with the Premier League's all-time top scoring midfielder looking increasingly perplexed on the sidelines as he struggles to get a tune out of what is a bloated and unbalanced squad.

Chelsea no doubt have the talent in their ranks to finish the season on a positive note, with a dressing room brimmed with international stars. What they conspicuously lack, however, is a sense of togetherness and direction required to compete at the highest level of the Premier League.

bet365’s Steve Freeth said: “It’s hard to believe, with a handful of Premier League games to go, that we’re getting requests for Chelsea not to win again this season, but such has been their decline since the end of October.

“The Blues were odds-on to finish in the Top 4 under Tuchel and then under Potter when he got off to a flying start, but it’s unravelled very quickly since the 4-1 drubbing at Brighton with the Stamford Bridge club now 1/9 to finish in the bottom half for the first time since 1996.

Chelsea's fixture list from now until the end of the Premier League season still makes for pretty grim reading following Tuesday's defeat to Arsenal, with the Blues set to face the other three teams occupying the top four - Man City, Man Utd and Newcastle - in their remaining five matches.

At present, it's difficult to see this Chelsea side having the mettle to topple any of these three teams, with every match counting at the top end of the table, in stark contrast to the 12th-placed Blues who now only have pride left to play for.

The Stamford Bridge club should fancy their chances a lot more against Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest, but with these two sides still battling for survival at the bottom end of the table, these fixtures are also likely to be far from straight-forward for Chelsea.

Following their wounding 3-1 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates, Chelsea are now priced at 50/1 to lose all five of their remaining matches and therefore fail to reach 40 points in the Premier League this season.

bet365's Steve Freeth said: "Despite losing their first five games under Lampard, it felt like a good time for Chelsea to be playing an Arsenal side who were winless in their last four with the added incentive of adding to their London rivals’ recent title woes.

“However, those thoughts were wiped out in the opening period with the Blues putting in anther shambolic shift making it six defeats from six since the return of the former hero.

“It’s not very often you read about a club like Chelsea struggling to reach 40 points at this stage of the campaign, and we are 50/1 for them to fail to reach this tally for the first time in the top flight since 1979."
