After another transfer window of significant expenditure, and under the auspices of a new manager in Mauricio Pochettino, there was optimism at Stamford Bridge that the Blues would be able to turn a new leaf following a dreadful campaign last term.
An opening day 1-1 draw at home to Liverpool reinforced this notion that Chelsea would be a much different proposition this season, and that once again they would be back in the reckoning for major trophies.

Chelsea are a club used to winning trophies in recent times, and American owner Todd Boehly will be desperate to see his unprecedented investment in the transfer market repaid with some silverware sooner rather than later.
