The latest in Chelmsford's set of Thursday night meetings features six races and five of them are sponsored by bet365.
The latest horse racing betting tips for Thursday's all-weather card at Chelmsford from Racing Post tipster Graeme Rodway.
7.30 - Taxiing @ 14/1
8.30 - Blessed Boy @ 5/1
9.00 - Harry The Haggler @ 6/1
19:30 - Taxiing @ 14/1
The Russell, Rogers, Palmer Race Handicap (7.30) is a low-grade staying affair and the one to be on here is TAXIING, who might be capable of recapturing his best now he is reunited with Rossa Ryan.
The David Evans-trained four-year-old recorded his last success at Wolverhampton in January under Ryan and has now dropped back to the same mark as when registering that victory. He is well treated.
He again ran well under Ryan, albeit when only eighth, at Lingfield on his next outing and it's worth forgiving two poor runs since. Both have come under claiming riders and he failed to get competitive.
His last run came over 1m31/2f, but he is much better suited by further and the step up to 2m promises to bring about an improvement, as does the reapplication of a visor.
The return to the all-weather is also in Taxiing's favour and there are evidently several good reasons for thinking that he might return to his best form. If he does, he is weighted to win a race like this one.
8.30 - Blessed Boy @ 5/1
The Best Odds Guaranteed At bet365 Handicap (8.30) is the feature race on the night and the best bet of the evening also comes here in the shape of the lightly-raced BLESSED BOY.
There was a lot to like about the way Blessed Boy landed a mile novice at Lingfield on his second outing last season and he went off an easy-to-back 15/8 favourite on his reappearance at Kempton in March.
The market drift was a precursor to a disappointing performance as he trailed in four and three-quarter lengths behind the winner. However, he almost certainly needed the run and shaped like he might be suited by further. He gets the chance to prove that now he is up to 1m2f.
He has been gelded since his last run and makes his handicap debut off a mark of 80. That should be workable and Billy Loughnane is a positive jockey booking. He is 17 per cent for George Boughey.
9.00 - Harry The Haggler @ 6/1
The Bet Boost At bet365 Handicap (9.00) rounds off the Chelmsford card and HARRY THE HAGGLER appears to have a good chance off a mark just 1lb higher than when last successful.
Stuart Williams has plenty of winners at Chelmsford, but it was at Kempton where Harry The Haggler recorded his last victory. He has shown good form at this track in three of his four subsequent starts, though, and is open to further improvement now that he has his second run back over this 7f trip.
His last win came at this distance and he almost certainly found a mile stretching him on his last two starts before a winter break. He returned to this furlong shorter trip, at this track, on his seasonal reappearance last month and kept on encouragingly, shaping like he would come on for the run.
He was forced wide to challenge that day, but shouldn't have that problem from a good draw in stall four here and is 1lb lower.
Provided he has sharpened up for that return, he should be difficult to beat.
