Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. has vowed to end Jake Paul's boxing career when the two collide in California on 28th June.
The former WBC middleweight champion is one of the most experienced fighters Paul has encountered in a professional bout as Chavez Jr. heads into the contest with a 54-6-1 record.
Despite the noticeable jump to cruiserweight - a significantly heavier division than the one Chavez Jr. made his name - and many believing that the Mexican's best days are long behind him, the 39-year-old has warned Paul that he will be in for a bruising encounter.
Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Chavez Jr. said: "I still think that I'm better than Jake, so I think after this fight maybe Jake continues to fight.
"He wants to try to be the best boxer but I don't think he has the skills and everything for winning that fight.
Yes, I want to end Jake Paul's career. I want to end it.
It's been more than a decade since Chavez Jr' held his middleweight titles and Paul's youthfulness is expected to give him the edge as the American is the overwhelming favourite to triumph in Anaheim.
Paul has gone 11-1 as a boxer since making his professional debut in 2020, facing fellow YouTubers, mixed martial artists, and professional boxers along the way.
His last bout saw him outpoint former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, a fight in which Paul admitted he "held back" in a comedic and painful encounter.
Chavez Jr poses more of a legitimate threat and the Mexican firmly believes he's got the beating of Paul.
"I want to put clear that I'm still here, I'm not old and I take this sport serious," said Chavez Jr.
"I train hard, be disciplined. I'm 39. I don't think I'm old.
"I still feel good in the gym. So I want to prove that I'm still here, I'm still a good fighter. I want to fight better opposition after this fight and that's why I took this fight."
