Charlton Athletic are reportedly closing in on the signing of defender Billy Koumetio from Scottish Premiership side Dundee.
Koumetio has spent the last two seasons at Dundee after arriving from Liverpool in the summer of 2024.
The former French youth international has made 44 appearances for the club and has helped to establish Dundee in the top-flight.
He recently penned a one-year contract extension to stay in Scotland until June 2027 but he is now set for an exit.
The Daily Record have reported that Charlton are looking to conclude a deal which could be completed imminently.
Dundee had previously rejected a number of six-figure bids for the defender but Charlton have seemingly now won the race.
Koumetio, who was previously part of Liverpool's academy, is keen to move back to England and develop his career further.
Capable of playing at centre-back or left-back, Koumetio has spent time in Austria and France during loan moves and he showed signs of starting to fulfil his promise in Scotland last season.
Charlton have been on the lookout for competition for the likes of Lloyd Jones and Reece Burke and the imminent arrival of Koumetio will provide greater competition for places.
The Addicks enjoyed a strong first half of the campaign last season before tailing off after Christmas and manager Nathan Jones will be optimistic about pushing on towards mid-table and possibly the top-half next season.
