Charlton Athletic have reached an agreement to sign Nottingham Forest defender Tyler Bindon on loan for the 2026/27 campaign with the player set to undertake a medical on Friday.
According to EFL transfer guru Pete O'Rourke, the 21-year-old is expected to become Nathan Jones' latest summer acquisition, with a deal expected to be completed in the next 24 hours.
"Understand Charlton are poised to sign Nottingham Forest defender Tyler Bindon on loan with the player due for a medical at the Valley," he posted on X.
Charlton were reportedly forced to pull the plug on a deal to re-sign former loan star Jesurun Rak-Sakyi earlier this week after suffering the blow of losing two defenders to injury in their EFL Cup defeat against Tottenham Hotspur.
Both Billy Koumetio and Collins Sichenje were forced out of the action during the first-half, leaving boss Nathan Jones with little option other than to reevaluate his transfer plans ahead of next Tuesday's 11pm deadline.
With Sichenje's injury expected to be long-term, the Londoners have made an immediate beeline for Bindon who is being granted another temporary move away from the City Ground to further aid his development.
The New Zealand international made 26 appearances in the Championship for Sheffield United last term on the back of featuring 16 times former side Reading during another loan spell 12 months earlier.
It's anticipated Bindon will be thrust straight into the starting line-up as Charlton look to maintain their 100 percent league record against Preston North End on Saturday.
At least one other defender is understood to be on the club's radar over the final few days of the window, whilst the Addicks could return to the negotiating table with Crystal Palace regarding a potential loan move for Rak-Sakyi.
