Champions League Final Odds: 5/1 for all-Bundesliga affair between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund

In what would be a repeat of the 2012/13 Champions League final, we're offering odds of 5/1 for Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund to meet in the showpiece event at Wembley.

Bayern Munich will take on Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the Champions League after defeating Arsenal 4-3 on aggregate on Wednesday night.

Borussia Dortmund secured their passage to the final four in thrilling fashion as they scored two goals in quick succession to knock out Atletico Madrid. Their reward is a semi-final clash with PSG, who conquered Barcelona to advance.

Champions League

Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are both underdogs in their respective semi-final ties, with a Real Madrid v PSG final the shortest price at 11/10.

Finishing one-two in four of the previous five Bundesliga seasons, both teams have been the dominant forces in German football, though their supremacy has been ended this term following the emergence of Bayer Leverkusen and their maiden league triumph.

Having relinquished their Bundesliga crown, been knocked out by third tier FC Saarbrucken in the DFB Pokal and suffering defeat to RB Leipzig in the DFL Supercup, the Champions League is Bayern's last resort for silverware this campaign.

Thomas Tuchel's side are 6/4 to reach the final and 11/4 to lift the Champions League trophy in June.

Like Bayern, Dortmund's last chance of silverware this term lies in the Champions League. 5th in the Bundesliga and eliminated in the DFB Pokal Round of 16, Dortmund's progression in the competition has eased the pressure on Edin Terzic and they will be heading into their semi-final clash against PSG with nothing to lose.

Die Borussen are priced at 7/4 to progress and 9/1 to repeat their success of 1996/97.

Nationality of Champions League winner

We've got a market available on the nationality of this year's Champions League winner.

With both Bayern and Dortmund left in the competition, a German victor is priced at 6/4.

Real Madrid are priced at 7/5 to bring a 15th European title back to Spain, while PSG are 5/2 to become only France's second Champions League winner after Marseille in 1993.

2012/13 Champions League final

Bayern and Dortmund's progression to the final four has raised the prospect of a 2012/13 Champions League final repeat, which was also staged at Wembley Stadium.

Bayern defeated Arsenal, Juventus and Barcelona on their way to the finale that year, while Dortmund conquered Shakhtar Donetsk, Malaga and Real Madrid to reach the deciding contest.

It was the first all-German final in the competition's history and it certainly lived up to the pre-match billing, with both sides asking questions of one another in a high-tempo affair.

The breakthrough came on the hour mark courtesy of Mario Mandzukic, with the Croatian putting the finish touch to a well-crafted move designed by Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.

Dortmund regrouped and within eight minutes they were level as Ilkay Gundogan dispatched a penalty after Marco Reus was upended by Dante in the area. The final stages were fascinating, with both sides proceeding with little caution as they looked to muster the winner.

And then with seconds left on the clock, Robben made himself the hero. Latching onto Ribery's deft touch, Robben tiptoed his way into the penalty area and nudged the ball beyond a stranded Roman Weidenfeller.

It sealed Bayern's fifth success in the competition and banished the anguish of their final heartaches in 2010 and 2012.

The Bavarian club have reached the final only since - in 2020 when they defeated PSG - while Dortmund's furthest progress is the quarter-finals in 2014, 2017 and 2021.
