Pound-for-pound star Canelo Alvarez has revealed that fighting in the United Kingdom remains on his boxing bucket list, hinting at a potential showdown with Chris Eubank Jr.
The Mexican recently made a successful defence of his undisputed super-middleweight championship against Cuban William Scull, and is now gearing up for a colossal showdown with unbeaten American Terence Crawford in September.
Crawford - a four-weight world champion and two-weight undisputed champion - has long been mooted as a potential opponent for Canelo, but the one obvious stumbling block has always been the natural size difference between the two men.
However, the unbeaten 37-year-old Nebraskan has agreed to a two-tier weight jump to make the fight happen, and whilst Canelo is adamant that he won't be looking beyond his forthcoming opponent, he has confirmed that fighting in the UK remains high on his agenda.
"I want to fight in the United Kingdom and I promise I will do," he told The Ring Magazine.
I don't know exactly where yet, but I am going to do it. Would people like to see me against Chris Eubank Jr? Maybe that's the fight.

"I have already fought and beaten eight Brits so far, and I will make that nine! It's a fight I would consider, but we don't know what is going to happen."
Of course, whilst Canelo has Crawford to contend with, Eubank Jr is expected to undertake a rematch with Conor Benn following their enthralling, and explosive, affair at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last month.
Eubank Jr, who agreed to adhere to strict dehydration stipulations for the showdown, got the nod from all three ringside judges to finally settle their near decade-long feud on the scorecards.
The Brighton & Hove fighter has previously voiced his appetite to tackle Canelo, with discussions between the two parties taking place last year, although an impasse was reached with Eubank Jr instead agreeing to a lucrative domestic dust-up with Benn.
Matchroom's Eddie Hearn has this week revealed that a September 27 date looks likely for the rematch, two weeks after Canelo - who recently signed a four-fight deal with Turki Alalshikh's Riyadh Season - is scheduled for his blockbuster clash with Crawford.
Providing both fighters come through their respective bouts unscathed, then it appears as though fight fans in the UK could be treated to another colossal clash next year.
