Callum Wilson has emerged as a player who could potentially be on the move between now and the end of the January transfer window, with reports suggesting Newcastle could be prepared to cash in on the 31-year-old striker.
Wilson, who joined the Magpies from Bournemouth for £20m in 2020, has been a popular figure at St James' Park but has only started seven Premier League games this term as a result of injury problems and the form of Alexander Isak.
With Swedish hotshot Isak having emerged as Newcastle's number one option up front and Wilson now the wrong side of 30, the club's hierarchy may now view the striker as a sellable asset amidst their reported struggles to remain in line with the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules.
Should Wilson become available. there are a number of English clubs in the market for a striker who could be interested in his services, such as Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and West Ham.
It would likely take a substantial offer for Newcastle to part with what is a proven Premier League goalscorer, however, especially with Eddie Howe's side currently languishing in mid-table.
