Xabi Alonso's sensational Leverkusen side were able to win the Bundesliga by a staggering 17 points in 2023/24 without tasting defeat, with Bayern eventually finishing in third behind Stuttgart in second.

Having signed Harry Kane for a club-record initial fee of £86m last summer, Bayern slipped to a first trophyless season since 2011/12, with manager Thomas Tuchel departing at the end of the campaign.
