Bromley set to land star winger from League One rivals

Bromley are reportedly closing in on the signature of Notts County winger Jodi Jones on a permanent deal.

Jones played a pivotal role in helping County achieve promotion from League Two last season. Totalling 13 goal contributions, the Malta international scored and assisted in the comprehensive play-off final win over Salford City.

However, it's looked increasingly likely throughout the summer that Jones will depart the Meadow Lane outfit with a plethora of clubs linked to the 28-year-old, and it appears Bromley are set to win the race for the winger.

According to Pete O'Rourke, the Ravens are in advanced talks to secure the services of Jones on a permanent basis.

League One

Bromley defied the odds in the previous campaign to win the League Two title and climb into the third tier of English football for the first time in their history.

The club's ascent under Andy Woodman has been remarkable with the Ravens finishing higher in each season since the former Northampton Town and Oxford United goalkeeper inherited the reins at Hayes Lane in 2021.

Determined to ensure their stay in League One is not a brief affair, Bromley have been extremely busy in the summer transfer window so far, adding 12 new faces to their title-winning squad.

Victor Adeboyejo, Shamal George and Jacob Mendy have joined from League One rivals, while Ethon Archer has made the loan switch from Luton Town to join Woodman's plans for the campaign ahead.

The addition of Jones would arguably be Bromley's marquee signing and the former Coventry City star will feel he has something to prove in League One after three excellent years at Notts County.

In a career blighted by injury woes, Jones recaptured his best form during a loan spell at Meadow Lane as the Magpies achieved from the National League. He then joined the Magpies on a permanent basis from Oxford United and in the 2023/24 season he registered an astonishing 24 assists to warrant his inclusion in the League Two Team of the Season.

The following campaign started in the same fashion to the previous with four goals and an assist in six matches before a shin injury sidelined him for three months. Jones only made 20 appearances in 2024/25, but he managed to avoid any long-term issues in 2025/26.
