A total of 12 players from England will feature in the 2025 IPL season after being purchased in the mega auction.
The auction saw 182 players picked across 10 teams and Rishabh Pant stole the headlines as he became the most expensive player in the league's history in a lucrative deal to the Lucknow Super Giants.
We take a look at all of the English players who are set to feature in the world's biggest T20 league.
Gujarat Titans
Rajasthan Royals announced they would not be retaining Buttler for the 2025 season, ending a six-year association between England's white-ball captain and the 2008 IPL winners.
Buttler's availability generated plenty of interest and somewhat inevitably, the wicketkeeper was the most expensive English player in the auction as he joined the Gujarat Titans for 15.75 crore (£1.4m).
Buttler, who has the second-most centuries in IPL history with seven, was sidelined for several months with an ongoing calf issue but returned to action in explosive fashion during England's T20 series triumph over the West Indies.
Chennai Super Kings
Once the most expensive signing in IPL history when Punjab Kings outbid five other teams to sign him for 18.50 crore (£1.85m) in 2023, Curran has a point to prove after joining the Chennai Super Kings for 2.40 crore (£240k).
The left-armed all-rounder captained the Punjab Kings in the absence of Shikhar Dhawan in 2024, taking 16 wickets at an average of 26.00 whilst accumulating 270 runs with the bat, which included two half-centuries.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
Another Englishman who was with the Punjab Kings, Livingstone left franchises purring following a series of belligerent performances for his country in recent months.
The 31-year-old delivered an inspired display in England's ODI triumph over the West Indies as he reached 124 not out from 85 balls and Livingstone believes he's playing the best cricket of his career.
Despite enduring a disappointing 2024 IPL campaign where he only mustered 111 runs from seven matches, Livingstone will look to deliver for Royal Challengers Bangalore after being picked up for 8.50 crore (£796k).
Royal Challengers Bangalore
Going unsold in last year's auction, Salt smashed two centuries in England's T20I series against West Indies in response to the rejection in December 2023 before a door opened prior to the new season as Kolkata Knight Riders drafted him to replace Jason Roy.
A blistering 89 not out off 47 deliveries in an eight-wicket triumph over Lucknow was evidence of Salt's ever-improving skillset and the 29-year-old boasts an astronomical strike rate across both white-ball formats.
As such, Royal Challengers Bangalore decided to splash 11.5 crore (£1m) to acquire his services and Salt will accompany England teammate Livingstone at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Delhi Capitals
Despite scoring the first century of the 2023 IPL season, Brook endured a disappointing debut campaign with Sunrisers Hyderabad and subsequently moved to the Delhi Capitals for 2024 season.
The Yorkshireman withdrew prior to the 2024 competition citing personal reasons but the talented batter, who achieved his Test high score against Pakistan in October, has been offered another crack at the IPL by the Capitals, who paid 6.25 crore (£590k) to retain his services.
Kolkata Knight Riders
2025 will mark Ali's seventh season and his first with the Kolkata Knight Riders following a three-year stint with the Chennai Super Kings, where he became the first Englishman to win the IPL in 2021.
With an economy rate of 7.06 which ranks him 13th on the IPL bowling list (min. 20 matches), the veteran all-rounder retired from international cricket in 2024, which made him an increasingly attractive proposition for the Knight Riders with Ali committing to the full season.
Mumbai Indians
Power-hitting all-rounder Jacks was picked up by the Mumbai Indians for 5.25 crore (£500k) ahead of the 2025 season after his previous franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore opted against exercising their Right to Match card.
Jacks made the headlines frequently for several big scores in last year's IPL season, with the Surrey ace producing a sensational unbeaten century off 41 balls as he and Virat Kohli powered RCB to an incredible nine-wicket win against the Gujarat Titans.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
It's been a whirlwind few months for Bethell, with the Barbados-born all-rounder making his international debut in September before being included in the Test side for the first time against New Zealand in November.
His ascent on the international stage has been capped off with selection in the IPL auction and Royal Challengers Bangalore picked up Bethell for 2.60 crore (£245k), who chalked up 361 runs in the 2024 Vitality Blast for Birmingham Bears.
Mumbai Indians
Accompanying Jacks in the capital is England white-ball teammate Topley, who joined the Indians for a nominal 75 lacs (£80k) in the mega auction.
The left-arm seamer has endured a catalogue of injury issues which is representative of his low cost, but Mumbai know they will have picked up a bargain if they can keep Topley fit for the duration as he adds greater firepower to a stacked bowling department.
Rajasthan Royals
In a fascinating sequence of events, Archer was signed by the Rajasthan Royals for a lucrative 12.50 crore (£1.2m) in the mega auction, despite being excluded from the final shortlist due to contractual conflict with the ECB, who were eager to limit his workload ahead of a pending return to the England Test team next year.
However, with the new IPL rules imposed which would see a player banned for the following two years should they skip the 2025 edition, the ECB agreed to let Archer play his first season in the league since 2020.
Given his exceptional ability, there will be great intrigue as to how the pace bowler performs in the eastern hemisphere and, more importantly, if his body can survive the workload.
Sunrisers Hyderabad
Carse is another individual to earn his first IPL contract after the all-rounder was signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad for 1 crore (£100k).
The Durham fast bowler, who made his maiden Test debut against Pakistan in October, will be looking to contribute his speed to a bowling attack that consists of standout names in Mohammad Shami, Pat Cummins and Harshal Patel.
Chennai Super Kings
Like Bethell and Carse, Overton will also make his IPL bow in 2025 after the fast bowling all-rounder joined Chennai Super Kings for 1.5 crore (£150k).
The 30-year-old has a wealth of experience on the Twenty20 stage having sampled the Big Bash in Australia and International League T20 in UAE, while the Super Kings will see Overton as a figure who can make vital contributions down the lower order.
