It's a sure sign that summer is on its way when Brighton is back on the fixture list and the seaside venue hosts an eight-race card on Saturday evening, sponsored by bet365.
The latest horse racing betting tips for Saturday's card at Brighton from Racing Post Graeme Rodway.
16:40 – Bob The Bandit @ 7/2
17:45 – Eton Blue @ 7/1
19:20 – Kitaro Kich @ 10/1
16:40 – Bob The Bandit @ 7/2
The bet365 EBF Restricted Maiden Stakes looks like a good opportunity for BOB THE BANDIT to break his duck at the third attempt, following two solid efforts in second on both of his starts so far.
The son of Aclaim went through soft ground well when runner-up in the Brocklesby on soft ground at Doncaster on his debut in March, but failed to build on that at Wolverhampton 19 days ago.
Bob The Bandit was easy to back, drifting to 7-2 having been as short as 5-4, and he simply didn't have the pace to go with the winner after looking ill at ease on the track and failing to handle the tight turn for home. He still looked like a work in progress and should improve for that experience this time.
The return to easy ground on turf looks certain to suit him better and the extra half-furlong is also in his favour. If he can return to the form he showed on his debut, he should be up to winning this time.
17:45 – Eton Blue @ 7/1
Trainer George Baker has his string in superb form and he appears to have targeted this meeting. He saddles three runners on the night and can land the Download The bet365 App bet365 Handicap with ETON BLUE, who has a good record when fresh and returns from a 210-day hiatus.
Eton Blue was successful on his seasonal reappearance in 2022 and finished a close second on his first start following a 171-day winter break last season, so fitness shouldn't be an issue here.
He also returns to the scene of his last victory as he was successful over course and distance in September. That was off a mark of 71 and he is fairly treated off just 3lb higher this time.
He was disappointing in the amateur riders' Cambridgeshire (1m1f) at Newmarket on his final run last season, but is worth another chance back at this track and returned to three furlongs further.
19:20 – Kitaro Kich @ 10/1
Stick with Baker in the It's Never Ordinary At bet365 Handicap as he saddles KITARO KICH, who ran his best race last season on his reappearance and might be another who is best when fresh.
The four-year-old has dropped to a mark 4lb lower than when recording that good third at Kempton after a 146-day absence last March and is open to improvement on his third outing since gelding.
Kitaro Kich was beaten only a length and three-quarters into fourth on his first start after the procedure at Lingfield in June and that was off a mark 1lb higher than this. A reproduction of that form would give him a chance here and there is no conclusive evidence that he is an all-weather specialist.
His third-highest Racing Post Rating came on turf at Newmarket on his second outing and, if he can reproduce his best all-weather form on this surface, he is handicapped to break his maiden.
