Brentford v Tottenham tips from the Football Betting Club

Tottenham begin their 2026/27 Premier League campaign at Brentford as they look to bounce back from two dismal seasons.

Spurs have finished 17th in each of the last two Premier League campaigns, being dragged into a relegation battle last term before being hoisted out of danger by Roberto De Zerbi

Optimism is renewed in North London with Tottenham investing heavily in their playing squad, while Brentford will look to go one better than last season when narrowly missing out on a European place.

On the Football Betting Club podcast, Gavin Horsfall, Mark Stinchcombe and bet365's Steve Freeth each put a selection forward to make up a Bet Builder for Saturday evening's game.

Brentford v Tottenham

Brentford v Tottenham Prediction

Leg 1: Over 2.5 goals @ 4/6

Mark said: "A staple bet with Roberto De Zerbi involved has to be over 2.5 goals. I know it's only 4/6 however there are only three games in the Premier League this weekend with a bigger price so perhaps that 4/6 is in keeping with the Premier League. I'm going to draw a line through his seven games last season where they only averaged 2.14 goals per game; he was doing a firefighter job, it was all about points, it wasn't about performances, it wasn't about goals.

"You only have to look through his career to see the evidence that his teams are goal-heavy. His last stint in the Premier League at Brighton, 89 matches. 3.37 goals per game, that would give you a price of around 8/15 for over 2.5 goals. His last job, Marseille, 69 games, 3.75 goals per game. Shakhtar, Sassuolo, Benevento, Palermo, Foggia, all averaged over three goals per game."

Leg 2: Nathan Collins to have 1+ shots @ 4/5

Steve said: "I'm going to go for Nathan Collins to have a shot. Keith Andrews, just a set piece coach isn't he?! I can see him asking a few questions of that Spurs rearguard. I'm expecting Brentford to be strong. Nathan Collins at a shade of odds-on will do for me. He's had many attempts in his career, he's a big old unit and hopefully he'll be able to get on one shot."

Leg 3: Tottenham to have the most corners @ 11/10

Gavin said: "I will hope there's some opportunities for set pieces up at the other end. I think one shining light on the horizon last year was that Spurs away form, much better than their home form where they seemed to struggle. With De Zerbi's side on the front foot here, I like the 11/10 for Spurs to get the most corners."
