Brandon Figueroa and Stephen Fulton lock-horns for a second time in the early hours of Sunday morning, and our resident boxing expert Rob Tebbutt explains who he feels will reign supreme and hold aloft the WBC featherweight title in Las Vegas.
Brandon Figueroa and Stephen Fulton square off for a second time on Saturday night, in a rematch of their 2021 super-bantamweight title fight.
Despite emerging victorious first time around, albeit in a hotly-disputed majority decision, Fulton enters the return bout as an underdog.
Figueroa, on the other hand, is the marginal favourite to avenge the sole loss on his resume.
I think this is a fight that will come down to who has the most left at this stage of their career.
While Figueroa looked rusty in his stoppage win over Jessie Magdalena last May, I feel Fulton showed real warning signs in his most recent outing, being somewhat fortunate to emerge victorious by split decision after being dropped by Carlos Castro.
I think this will be an attritional fight and while Fulton will have his moments, I can see Figueroa grinding him down in the second half of the fight, chopping away to the body and forcing the stoppage.
Figueroa was unlucky not to get the decision last time against Fulton - this time, I don’t think he leaves it to the judges!
