Brad Strand takes on Ionut Baluta on Saturday night, in a fascinating crossroads fight in the super-bantamweight division.
This is a well-matched bout, with the bookmakers virtually unable to split home-fighter Strand against the well-travelled Baluta who has a host of upset victories on his ledger.
Strand was soundly beaten by Dennis McCann in March 2024, but rebounded well with a stoppage win last time out.
However, I do lean towards Baluta’s aggression and unpredictable style.
The Romanian has an iron-chin and relentless work-rate and, provided he gets past the jab of Strand, I’m backing him to emerge victorious on Saturday night by decision.
