Our resident boxing insider Rob Tebbutt previews Saturday night's bill-topping British middleweight title bout between Brad Pauls and Denzel Bentley and explains where the betting value can be found.
Brad Pauls faces Denzel Bentley on Saturday night in London in a battle between two big hitters at 160lbs.
Pauls is making the first defence of the British middleweight title he won by 12th round TKO against Nathan Heaney back in July and enters the contest as a slight underdog against power-puncher Bentley.
Though Bentley was disappointing in surrendering the British title to Heaney himself, and while Pauls beat Heaney so conclusively last time out, I do feel that an in-form Bentley should have too much firepower for the current champion.
Both men like to be aggressive and throw big shots and I just feel that will play into Bentley’s hands.
The Londoner has tended to struggle with movers, rather than punchers, although he was blasted out inside three by Felix Cash back in 2021.
With that in mind, I think this is a fight that doesn’t go the distance and I lean towards Bentley getting the job done by stoppage.
