Former WBC cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew has provided his prediction for Oleksandr Usyk's long-awaited rematch with Daniel Dubois.
Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois are reportedly on the verge of agreeing to a rematch that would see the pair meet at London's Wembley Stadium on Saturday 12th July 2025.
The two last met in August 2023, with Usyk coming out on top in a knockout victory. Much has happened since then however.
While the Ukrainian has defeated Tyson Fury on two separate occasions, Dubois has emerged victorious against Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic and most impressively Anthony Joshua.
Dubois' victory over Joshua back in September 2024 was what really put him in contention for a rematch against Usyk, but the jury is still out on whether the 27 year old is quite ready.
Having lost to Usyk back in 2018, Tony Bellew has a good idea of the power and skill that the Ukrainian possesses.
Read what he anticipates when Usyk and Dubois lock horns for a second time.
"Usyk is the best heavyweight in the world. He's probably the best heavyweight of our era, there is no disputing it anymore. He's amazing at what he does.
"Dubois has been amazing. I've wrote him off on a number of occasions and he's come back to prove me wrong.
"You've got to give him a shot and he's in with a chance, but Usyk has already made him quit once so can he make him do it again?
"He (Dubois) is at a stage in his career now where he's overcome such adversity and he's the most confident he's ever been."
Despite such praise, Bellew doesn't think Dubois will have enough to beat Usyk, adding: "I think he'll get stopped between rounds eight and 12."
