We analyse the profiles and attributes of Mikaela Mayer and Sandy Ryan ahead of the rivals' WBO welterweight rematch in Las Vegas.
After their world title clash in September, there had been enough action in the ring and dispute over the result that made a rematch seem like the right thing to do. But there’s another reason why Ryan, in particular, wants to fight Mayer once again.
On the night of the fight last September Ryan stepped out of her hotel only to have a can of red paint thrown over her by an unknown individual. To her credit the former WBO welterweight champion carried on with the task at hand but lost her title by majority decision.
Will Ryan win her WBO welterweight championship back or can Mayer close the chapter on their rivalry once and for all?
Let's have a look at the Tale of the Tape.

Whatever happens on 29th March, Mikaela Mayer is heading towards a hall of fame career. An Olympian, a two-weight world champion and the first woman to sign a professional boxing contract with Top Rank are impressive highlights.
After a narrow, contentious loss to Natasha Jonas, you would have been forgiven for thinking the game was up for Mayer. But a door was left ajar when she received a shot at WBO welterweight champion Sandy Ryan, even if the belief was the Brit would be far too powerful for her.
The incident before her world title win took the shine off the championship victory but certainly adds a whole lot of spice to this rematch.
If Mayer can relax and not constantly be pushed onto the back foot and dictate the action herself, then she can follow up last September with a successful title defence.
The determination and industry of Ryan, however, combined with hands that rarely stop throwing, could make it an uncomfortable night and one that ends Mayer's latest reign.

Sandy Ryan doesn’t do things easily.
An unexpected defeat in her fourth fight to Erica Anabella Farias raised doubts over how far the Derby fighter would go, but she quietened everyone with a deserved victory in the rematch.
Beating Marie Pier Houte to win the WBO title was expected, as was a win against Jessica McCaskill after Ryan’s performance in their unification bout. Sadly, she found herself on the wrong end of poor scorecards which resulted in a draw.
One of Ryan’s best qualities is dusting herself down and going again, but having a tin of paint thrown over her just before she walked to the venue to face Mayer also proved she has tremendous character above everything else.
Ryan will be itching to get her hands on Mayer but discipline will be key to her chances of victory. One thing is certain, though – Mayer v Ryan 2 promises to be something very special.
