British and Commonwealth middleweight champion George Liddard bids to add the European title to his haul when he meets Dario Morello at the Copper Box Arena in London on Saturday night.
The Billericay boxer has won all of his previous 14 professional contests and the 24-year-old is a rapidly rising performer.
Morello won the EBU European middleweight strap in November, but the Italian has not been in action since and he is now tasked with winning back the belt.
Liddard has been climbing the middleweight ranks and the Essex fighter has the chance to win a third major title of his career at the Copper Box on Saturday night. It is an impressive effort from Liddard, who certainly rates as a promising talent, but he is now moving up in class.
The Billericay boxer has made swift progress since making his professional debut in 2022 and Liddard made light work of the opponents in the early stages of his career.
He breezed past a number of low-level rivals, before making a marked step up in class against Kieron Conway last year.
Liddard stopped the Northamptonshire fighter to collect the British and Commonwealth middleweight titles in what was the most impressive display of his career to date.
The Essex boxer successfully defended those belts against the tough Tyler Denny in March and Liddard now looks to leave British-level rivals behind.
Liddard steps up to European class to meet former EBU European middleweight Morello for the vacant title at the Copper Box.
The Italian won the belt when outpointing Faton Vukshinaj in November, but the 33-year-old has been inactive since and now needs to win the title for a second time on Saturday night.
The Calabria boxer has lost only one of his 27 professional contests and that came way back in 2019 against the once highly-rated Luther Clay.
Morello fights outside of his native Italy for the first time in his career and the experienced fighter may well need a career best to beat Liddard in London.

George Liddard to win by Decision or Technical Decision @ 7/4
There is no doubt that Liddard has created a good impression in his 14 professional victories, but he still has plenty to prove as he moves up in grade.
The Billericay boxer faced the toughest test of his career against Tyler Denny last time out, and while it was a convincing points success, it was not a dazzling performance.
Denny is a British-level boxer at best, who has previously been stopped by Reece Cartwright and George Liddard, and the 35-year-old was well past his best when meeting Liddard.
That performance indicates that the Essex fighter will have more work to do as he steps up against better opponents and it will not be a case of one-way traffic and knockout after knockout victory.
Morello is a fighter who moves well on the backfoot and the Italian is unlikely to stand and trade with his rival on Saturday.
The Italian has been beaten only once in 27 professional contests and that came way back in 2019 against Luther Clay, who at the time was a highly-rated boxer.
Morello has never boxed outside of his native Italy, and while an upset success is a big ask, the Calabria boxer may be able to stay out of Liddard’s way.
Spartan performed well when winning the European title against Faton Vukshinaj in November, and while Morello has been inactive since, he should have a peak performance which can get him to the final bell.
At 13/8, betting Liddard to win by decision at the Copper Box Arena on Saturday makes plenty of appeal.
