English fighter Chantelle Cameron will be hoping to go a step closer to a potential showdown with Amanda Serrano when she faces French star Elhem Mekhaled in Birmingham this summer.
Cameron recently parted company with Matchroom Boxing after her points defeat to Katie Taylor in the second meeting between the fighters, having inflicted the first professional defeat on the Irish star in May 2023.
Unable to get a rematch with Taylor for the moment, Cameron now has Mekhaled in her sights, with the pair set to fight on the undercard of the Liam Davies and Shabaz Masoud clash.
The fight between Chantelle Cameron and Elhem Mekhaled is scheduled to take place on Saturday 20th July, 2024.
Chantelle Cameron and Elhem Mekhaled are expected to ringwalk at around 20:30 BST.
This fight will take place at the Resorts World Arena, Birmingham.
Located at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Solihull, the venue has a capacity of 15,685 and was opened back in December 1980.
Chantelle Cameron v Elhem Mekhaled will be broadcast on TNT Sports 1.

18-1 (8 KOs)
Chantelle Cameron has changed promoter and trainer since losing her second fight against Katie Taylor.
Winning the first fight in Dublin in May 2023, Cameron went on to lose the rematch in November that year, with both bouts being won by majority decision.
Furious after not being given another rematch with Taylor, Cameron has moved to rival promoter Queensberry and has joined up with new trainer Grant Smith.
From Northampton, the 33-year-old Cameron is now working with the Sheffield-based trainer ahead of this next fight against Mekhaled.
Cameron has won 18 fights, with eight of those by way of knockout. Her defeat to Taylor last year is her only loss to date.
16-2 (3 KOs)
Elhem Mekhaled heads into this fight on the back of defeat at the hands of the American Alycia Baumgardner in February 2023.
A fellow orthodox fighter like Cameron, Mekhaled has lost just two fights in her professional career, while three of her 16 wins have come by way of knockout.
Born in Vaulx-en-Velin, a large suburb of the city of Lyon, Mekhaled is also 33-years-old.
With the nickname “The Diamond”, Mekhaled will be eyeing an upset in Birmingham to put herself in the frame for a potential fight with Taylor or Serrano.
Cameron is the heavy favourite going into this bout at 1/10 to win on home soil, while Mekhaled is 6/1 to cause an upset and claim victory in the West Midlands.
