Cameron recently parted company with Matchroom Boxing after her points defeat to Katie Taylor in the second meeting between the fighters, having inflicted the first professional defeat on the Irish star in May 2023.

Unable to get a rematch with Taylor for the moment, Cameron now has Mekhaled in her sights, with the pair set to fight on the undercard of the Liam Davies and Shabaz Masoud clash.

Chantelle Cameron has changed promoter and trainer since losing her second fight against Katie Taylor. 

Winning the first fight in Dublin in May 2023, Cameron went on to lose the rematch in November that year, with both bouts being won by majority decision.

Furious after not being given another rematch with Taylor, Cameron has moved to rival promoter Queensberry and has joined up with new trainer Grant Smith.

From Northampton, the 33-year-old Cameron is now working with the Sheffield-based trainer ahead of this next fight against Mekhaled.

Cameron has won 18 fights, with eight of those by way of knockout. Her defeat to Taylor last year is her only loss to date.
