Rob Tebbutt provides his best bets for Adam Azim v Sergey Lipinets with the IBO world super-lightweight title on the line in London.
Adam Azim meets Sergey Lipinets on Saturday night, as the unbeaten super-lightweight seeks to lay down a marker in the 140lbs division.
Azim enters the contest a huge favourite and for good reason. The 22-year-old has barely put a foot wrong in his 12-fight career and a win over an experienced, battle-hardened veteran like Lipinets will be a good one to have on his resume.
I feel this is smart matchmaking from Team Azim and I expect Azim to look good in getting Lipinets out of there. Although a former IBF world champion, Lipinets, at 35-years-old, has seen better days and looked vulnerable in his last outing against Robbie Davies Jr.
Despite having mixed it with top opposition over the years, including the likes of Mikey Garcia, Michel Rivera and Jason Ennis, Lipinets has only been stopped once. However, I expect Azim to add to that tally this weekend and close the show inside the first six rounds.
