Bournemouth Premier League Odds: Cherries 13/8 to finish in top half

Bournemouth are 13/8 to finish in the top half of the Premier League after their victory over Crystal Palace made it four wins from their last five matches.

Substitutes Justin Kluivert and Antoine Semenyo proved to be the difference, with the attacking duo combining to seal the Cherries' 11th league win of the campaign, matching their tally of victories from last season.

Andoni Iraola's outfit are currently perched 11th in the standings, one point behind Wolves in 10th and only four points adrift of a European berth.

After a winless start to the campaign, questions were being asked of Iraola's appointment but the Basque tactician soon began to defy his critics as the Cherries embarked on a positive run from the end of October.

Bournemouth chalked up wins against the likes of Newcastle and Crystal Palace before a famous 3-0 triumph over Manchester United at Old Trafford.

That form was carried into the festive period with victories over Nottingham Forest and Fulham but the Dorset club saw results deteriorate in the New Year, enduring a six-game winless streak in the league.

A 1-0 defeat to Leicester City in the FA Cup was a bitter pill to swallow for Iraola but his side have responded impressively, accumulating 13 points from a possible 15 in the matches since.

Three of those five matches involved opposition that currently occupy the bottom three, while their last two triumphs were against Everton and Crystal Palace, who are below them in the table.

Victory over Palace at the Vitality moved the Cherries to within five points of their best-ever points tally in the Premier League, having chalked up 46 in 2016/17 when they finished 9th.

With eight matches remaining they have every chance of surpassing that total, although after their trip to Kenilworth Road on Saturday, Bournemouth face a testing period with fixtures against Manchester United, Aston Villa, Wolves, Brighton and Arsenal.

They round off the campaign with an encounter against Chelsea, who they could well be jostling for position with on 19 May.
